My Music Videos

THE EDGE

This is the video that started it all.

I dreamt this once - words, music, and video - and I woke up and wrote it down.

I tried all kinds of ways to make this video a reality.

(One attempt at getting the egg to close: I made the egg in Sketchup and turned it upside down, had it fall open using SketchyPhysics, filmed the whole thing and then reversed the film backwards and upside down again. Whew!)

That was before I discovered Blender.

SAND LETTER (rough sketch version)

This will one day be a real video.

It's a story about a boy who meets a friend who teaches him how to see the bigger picture of life but then fails at that himself.

HAREIDIM SUPPORT IDF (rough sketch version)

This will one day be a real video.

This is a dramatic piece about the interplay between a couple of Talmud scholars, an Israeli soldier, a terrorist, and a baby.

The music is not mine. It's from a youtube user named Smoke 89.

AKIVA DOE DOE DOE DOE DOE

This is a music video I did with my brother-in-law, Gidi. He wrote the song and is acting in the video. I did the production part.

It's for my son Akiva.

IT'S A SMALL RACHEL AFTER ALL

Here's another one I did with Gidi. We filmed this at the Spectrum in Irvine, CA.

It's for my daughter Rachel, who is the baby in the video.

UNITY - A JEWISH HISTORY TIMELINE

This isn't like a scholarly timeline or anything. It's a just an artistic sweep through history with a climatic ending and leaves the viewer with a powerful feeling for the future.

It's done in slideshow format. I originally planned on panning and zooming to give the video a more engaging feel but I didn't have enough time for that.

Some questioned the ratio of the different themes in the video, claiming that I used too many images on some things and not enough on others. But, what can I do? I didn't make the song. I had a song to work with that had certain timing that demanded a certain pace. I started from the end and worked backwards. Whatever fit fit and whatever didn't didn't.

Anyways, this video gets the most views on youtube than any of my other ones. There's just a consant stream of views from all over the world.

These Are the Years (rough sketch version)

Here's a guy who wants to put his life back together but he keeps running into obstacles, external and internal.

The video has almost nothing to do with the song. The song itself is about how people should recognize that the current time, place, and situation they are in is the one they should focus on, live life in the present, and be happy there (here).

The Wall's Secret (rough sketch version)

Here's a story about a guy who goes on a journey to discover that the world is speaking to him in a very subtle way and as he gets the message clearer he becomes trapped in the message, in his mind, behind his eyes where the music comes from.

Trippy stuff.

True story.
